板凳椅可依場合、活動與使用者習性變換造型與功能。它是一張單人椅，也可以成為四至六人座的板凳，或是桌几；解決需要準備多張座椅的收納問題，亦可以多張組合、堆疊成層架，用途廣泛。適合任何需要使用座椅的場所，尤其適合人數時常變動的空間。
板凳椅的設計，每個細節環環相扣：椅背的高度與角度必須符合舒適感與支撐強度，亦必須顧及椅背成為板凳腳時的力學結構。板材與其厚度的選擇，必須顧及木材可能的翹曲變形、懸空處強度，以及摺疊後椅面高度的改變。椅面寬度為板凳寬度的二倍，需考慮整體比例美感與實用性；板凳長度與椅面深度亦成倍數關係，藉由椅背接合處的位置達成合理的座面深度，此位置又關係到板凳腳的力學結構。板凳長度必須達到實用性質，亦不能使單人椅體積過大。兩張板凳之活動組合需要細微與準確的施工，以確保一組兩件的成品，各磁鐵位置可以相互吻合，磁鐵吸力不可過強或過弱：當成為單人椅時，搬運時不會分離；需展開成為兩張板凳時，又不會難以分開。為了維持木材原有活性，不作化學塗佈，須克服原木因溫濕度變形的可能。以上種種因素，經過數十次的試驗、設計修改與樣品製作方能解決。

The two parts of the chair are combined by magnets that seems an easy way of manufacture, in actual the achievement of precise combination is an extremely difficulty. The benches is a symbol of traditional Asia rural village community which is flocked gathering neighborhood. It is the simplicity of forming, structure and minimal material wasted. Au dernier salon Maison & Objet de septembre, à Now Design à vivre, Homer Concept et ses meubles modulables en bois ont été une des grandes révélations.
A propos de Homer Concept Les Taiwanais de Homer Concept créent et produisent leurs meubles à Taïwan. Grâce au design épuré et au principe de fonction transformable de chaque meuble, Home Concept apporte un esthétisme qui dépasse les modes et permet de conserver ces meubles le plus longtemps possible.
La construction du mobilier est faite en bois selon un principe de mobilier traditionnel : fait main, sans clous et sans produit chimique (HMNNC) (pas de vernis, ni colle…). Le bois provient de domaine forestier durable et sous contrat : quantité de la production contrôlée. Une chaise, 4 possibilités – Benches par les taïwanais d’Homer – Maison & Objet
Taïwan était à l’honneur lors de la dernière édition de Maison & Objet. Art, artisanat, design… L’occasion de découvrir plusieurs facettes de la création locale.
Repérée sur cet espace, la chaise Benches n’a pas laissé indifférent les visiteurs du salon. Le concept: une pièce évolutive et fonctionnelle qui en se dépliant peut se transformer en un banc (ou table basse) puis encore en deux bancs distincts ou chaises d’appoint grâce à un simple système d’aimants.
Homer semble avoir fait de cette modularité l’une de ses marques de fabrique. En témoignent les autres pièces de la collection comme Diamond, tour à tour chaise et chaise longue suivant son positionnement, ou encore Cross, un tabouret qui se transforme en chaise longue une fois allongé.

Taiwan was in the place of honour during the latest edition of Maison & Objet. Art, crafts, design… A chance to discover the many facets of local Taiwanese creation.
In this space, the Benches chair made a strong impression on visitors. The concept: an evolving and functional piece, which by unfolding can transform into a bench (or coffee table) and then again in two distinct benches or side chairs thanks to a simple magnet system.
Homer seem to have made this modularity one of their trademarks. As reflected in other pieces of the collection such as Diamond, in turn a chair and a deckchair depending on how it is positionned, or Cross, a stool that transforms into a deckchair once stretched out.
